PICTURE POSTING TUTORIIAL

You need a Network54 account.

When responding, posting to a forum, you will now have several additional options appear at the bottom of the form, including the "Insert Object" button.

Press the "Insert Object" button.

A new window will open headed "Dialog.." something with two menu choices, "File" and "resources".

I believe it opens with "File" selected, if not, select "File".

Under file, in the body of the window, will be a link called "Temporary files".

Select this link.

You will now see a list of all the picture files which have been uploaded to Network54 and stored under your Login I.D.. Obviously, if you've never done this, there won't be any files showing.

To upload files, Press the "Upload" button.

You will now see an input box, a "Browse" button, and, in my case usually, a partial view of a gray "Upload" button. If you know the exact name and path of your file on your PC, you can type it directly into the input box, I find it easier to just browse it in.
Once the correct file appears in the input box, press the gray "Upload" button to the right of the input box and wait. I've found that files much larger than 75KB don't work well. You can adjust the size of your picture files in programs such as Photoshop by decreasing the quality, and believe me, for web purposes, you can decrease the quality quite a bit from the gargantuan file sizes most photos start at. I usually use a JPEG file format with a quality level of 0 or 1 in Photoshop, your program may use a different scale.

Anyway, if the file uploads successfully, it will appear in the right side of the window.

Once it appears, hit the "Insert file" button and a link will appear in your response to the picture.

Very important, these files on Network54's servers will only remain for 7 days. After that the link goes bad.

And that's it. When you post the response, the link will appear to the picture.
